This new role serves as a substitute or additional scorer and collects, analyzes and communicates statistics for the assigned series. A previous knowledge of dirt racing is critical to the position.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain statistics for assigned series including but not limited to: wins, finishes, starts, weather conditions, etc.
- Analyze and communicate statistics to WRG staff such as Public Relations, Event Operations, Series Announcers, DIRTVision, etc.
- Seek and communicate unusual, interesting or relevant statistics
- Identify trends in the statistics of assigned series; use data to predict future trends or possible results
- Provide timing and scoring support as needed, including electronic and/or hand scoring
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills:
- At least 2 years of related experience; scoring experience preferred
- Knowledge of relevant series including essential rules, competitors and history; able and willing to learn as needed
- Familiarity with the Microsoft family of applications
- Able to apply technical knowledge to real-world needs
- Able to work in a team environment while working independently as needed
- Willing to seek assistance when necessary
- Strong organizational skills necessary
- Proven history of successfully handling multiple projects simultaneously
Notes:
- This role is based in Concord, NC; when not traveling, the position has in-office responsibilities
- This position requires frequent standing, sitting, and walking; occasional bending and crawling; the use of hands to grasp and feel frequently; regular lifting of up to 10 pounds and the occasional lifting of up to 40 pounds; occasional climbing of stairs with or without a handrail; and will require use of close vision. This position is based outdoors and may experience occasional exposure to the elements
- Overnight monthly travel averages 25-75%, primarily during racing season (February – November)
