PR and Promotions Coordinator (Volusia Speedway Park)

Volusia Speedway Park is looking for a seasonal, part-time team member to perform promotional, public relations and administrative duties related to the speedway, DIRTcar Nationals, Sunshine Nationals, Southern Sprint Car Shootout and possibly World Finals.

Duties:

  • Daily posting and maintenance of all Volusia Speedway Park social media outlets including engagement/conversation, monitoring and issue escalation/response.
  • Design and produce collateral material for Volusia Speedway Park, sales, events or the organization as needed
  • Execute on the social meal plan/tactics
  • Write, edit and distribute pre-event articles, post-event summaries and other feature stories
  • Support sales initiatives with planning and communications to fulfill sponsor elements such as promotions, social, digital, etc.
  • Assist during events on-site in multiple capacities as needed
  • Partner with other WRG staff to execute overall organizational goals
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Skills:

  • Associates or Bachelors degree required; preferred focus in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations or English
  • Knowledge of racing, especially dirt and/or short track, preferred
  • Knowledge and use of Microsoft Office family of applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Knowledge and use of Adobe design software, in particular Photoshop or Illustrator, helpful but not required
  • Knowledge and use of web content management systems helpful but not required
  • Mastery of both written and spoken English language required
  • Solid grammar skills, including vocabulary, punctuation, spelling and writing
  • Must be able to provide transportation to and from race tracks, potential clients, and other locations
  • Highly organized
  • Proven ability to succeed in fast-paced environment
  • Able to remain calm in high-pressure situations
  • Able to juggle multiple high-priority tasks
  • Able to maintain a positive and productive disposition
  • High sense of ownership and personal accountability required

Notes:

  • Seasonal, part-time, non-exempt
  • Based in DeLeon Springs, FL
  • Must be able and willing to attend dirt track motorsports events which occur on weekends and/or evenings
  • Position involves frequent sitting, regular use of hands to grasp and feel, lifting up to 25 pounds occasionally, frequent use of close vision in both natural and artificial light, exposure to dust, fumes and moving vehicles.
