Manager, Social Media (Concord, NC)

This new role creates and drives engagement via social media.

Responsibilities:

  • Create, curate and develop content across all social media platforms to tell the story of our races, drivers and events
  • Drive engagement with followers, develop and manage campaigns and analyze performance; identify specific objectives and measurable outcomes; adjust campaigns as needed based on performance, including and not limited to times, captions, etc.; create a model for social media based on engagement
  • Able to create multiple pieces of content from single point to increase engagement over time
  • Serve as a digital storyteller who can visualize and craft an engaging and interesting story
  • Stay up-to-date on emerging trends, best practices, audience preferences, and technology; adapt strategy to remain current
  • Partner with other WRG staff and DIRTVision team to identify and achieve objectives; ensure content aligns with WRG standards
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Background:

  • BS/BA in Marketing, Communications or relevant field of study
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in business social media or related field; equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable
  • Thorough understanding of social media measurements such as Google Analytics, pixels, SEO and SMO; history of tracking, adjusting and optimizing social media performance
  • Experience with video capture and editing tools
  • Excellent writing and video editing skills with a strong attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to create content for social media channels
  • Knowledge of and interest in dirt-track racing preferred; genuine willingness to learn necessary
  • Willing to work in a team environment with multiple departments
  • ¬†Creative problem solver

Notes:

  • This is an in-office position based in Concord, NC
  • In addition to a traditional work week, this role will work nights and/or weekends, especially during the racing season to capitalize on the audience prior to, day of and during an event
  • Occasional overnight travel averaging less than 10% monthly
  • This position requires frequent sitting and occasional walking and standing; the use of hands to grasp and feel; the occasional lifting up to 30 pounds; requires the use of close vision; hearing with natural or artificial elements
