This high-travel, customer-facing role enhances the live fan experience on race day
- Travel to events and provide on-site fan experience which may include and is not limited to: event setup and teardown, parking enhancement, material distribution, social media connections, autograph sessions, opening or special ceremonies and promotional giveaways
- Set up and teardown fan-experience event assets, including but not limited to ticket trailer externals, Victory Lane backdrops, and midway games
- Plan, research, execute and evaluate additional methods of increasing fan experience at, before or after events
- Address fans using microphones, megaphones or other large-scale devices; appear in videos to be shown on the large-screen displays
- One-on-one personal interaction during events with large numbers of fans in attendance
- Coordinate promotional events at track and offsite, as well as pre or post event entertainment as needed
- Support Events team with honorary starters, anthem singers, color guards, and other special honorees; ensure those individuals receive instructions and assistance during event
- Execute in-market promotion plans prior to the event including guerilla marketing, leafleting, sign placement and other activities; as needed, partner with outside agencies to execute plans
- Partner with DIRTVision, Client Services and other WRG departments as needed to execute fan experience initiatives
- Clean and maintain fan-experience assets and equipment
- Other duties as assigned
Required Background:
- Bachelor’s degree in sports management, marketing or related field preferred; combination of high school diploma (or equivalent) and experience acceptable
- 1 – 2 years related experience
- Willing and able to travel throughout the US frequently
- Valid US Driver’s License needed; experience driving a truck and tag trailer a plus
- Comfortable with public speaking in front of large groups
- Able to learn short-track dirt motorsports
- Good written and verbal communication skills required
- Sense of initiative necessary
Notes:
- This position is based in Concord, NC and travels with the assigned series; monthly overnight travel averages 50-75% during racing season (February – November); 10-25% overnight travel per month during the off-season
- This position requires frequent walking and standing; the use of hands to grasp and feel frequently; the frequent lifting up to 30 pounds; occasional lifting of up to 60 pounds; frequent bending, kneeling and twisting; and may require use of close vision. This position is located primarily outdoors.
